New Life…

I’ve always thought my life seems to lack many dull moments (which is mostly a good thing)… and as you may have seen here, that trend doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere any time soon. I’ve wanted to write numerous posts about our preggo adventures over the months but always hesitated when I sat down to do so. As newbie parents-in-training, this is our first rodeo and I’ve found it a bit difficult to articulate thoughts and feelings that I’ve never had before.

I mean, seriously. How can I explain Courtney and me crying over the sight of a plastic stick? Or having my heart skip a beat over the static-y, jumbled sound of a rhythmic whooshing noise? Take this picture, for instance.

Ridiculous. From a textbook photography standpoint, these pictures ain’t that good. Yet I melt when I look at them. I’ve never even met this guy and I can’t begin to tell you how much I love him. How is that even possible? And while I’m asking questions – How does something even go from being microscopic, to the pea-sized nugget in the first picture and then to the human being in the second in a matter of weeks? The game is changing and while I may not be able to grasp it all… I do know this: I’m getting to take part in nothing short of a miracle.

If you’re relatively new to the blog and don’t know, this is Courtney – my smokin’ hot wife. Doesn’t she look incredible?? This woman deserves a “World’s Best Mom” coffee mug (sorry, mom) because little Jr. kept her sick all the way into her 7th month. That said, she’s feeling good now and we’re in the home stretch with anywhere from 4 to 7 weeks to go! All there’s left to do is refinish a dresser, organize the garage and attic from the mess of the reclaimed 2nd bedroom, read a couple books, pack a bag, buy a few more baby supplies… and, oh yeah, the actual labor and delivery! That’s all.

OK, so we’re still a little ways away from greeting our baby boy… but that day is going to be here sooner than we know it and we couldn’t be more excited. Bring on the diapers, spit-up covered clothing and bags under our eyes.:)

<Note>: The Childcraft books above are actually the very same ones I read when I was a child! You can find out more about Childcraft here. Also, the 2/3/4 image layout was not intentional. </Note>

Emily - Okay, so I have to say — Courtney is arguably the cutest pregnant lady I’ve ever seen. And I spend 20/24 hours next to a hospital full of pregnant ladies, so I should know. Also, I helped do some newborn peds checks on babies last week, and the interracial baby was by FAR the cutest. Just a little high five for ya’ll. :) Such great pictures. Let us know when we can buy you that 80$ baby toenail clipper off your registry you’ve been wanting!March 14, 2012 – 7:06 pm

Nam - Hahahaha… whatever, Emily! Whatever to the toenail clipper comment. NOT to Courtney being the cutest pregnant lady ever. :) And yay for interracial babies!March 14, 2012 – 9:11 pm
